Step 7 Classic Professional on ohjelmiston laajempi versio, johon on integroitu muutama Step 7 Standardin lisäosista. Ohjelma sisältää simulointiominaisuudet eli sovelluksen toimintaa voidaan testata jo ohjelmointikoneessa (S7-PLCSIM). Ohjelmassa on kaksi uutta ohjelmointikieltä: sekvenssiohjelmointiin tarkoitettu (S7-GRAPH) ja monimutkaisten algoritmien ohjelmointia helpottava strukturoitu teksti (S7-SCL).

Yksi Siemensin tunnetuimmista tuotteista on S7-300-sarjan ohjelmoitava logiikka. Sen käyttökohteet ovat todella lukuisat erilaisista prosessi- ja kappaletavarateollisuuden ohjauksista aina yksittäisten koneiden ohjauksiin. Nykyään vastaavia sovelluksia voidaan toteuttaa myös uudemmilla S7-1200- tai S7-1500-sarjan logiikoilla.
